Tại sao peel về da bị đẩy mụn? Vì peel giúp lớp da bề mặt thay mới nhanh hơn, nên những nhân mụn đã hình thành sẵn dưới da bị đẩy lên sớm hơn bình thường. Hiện tượng này gọi là đẩy mụn (purging): mụn nổi ở đúng vùng bạn hay bị, chủ yếu là nốt nhỏ, và thường lắng xuống trong vài tuần. Why does your skin break out after a peel? Because a peel speeds up how quickly the surface layer of your skin renews, so congestion that was already forming underneath comes up sooner than it otherwise would. This is called purging: the spots appear where you usually break out, they are mostly small, and they usually settle within a few weeks. If spots appear in new areas, or come with burning, itching, swelling or pain that keeps getting worse, it is more likely irritation or a genuine breakout, and you should tell whoever did your peel straight away.

A spot does not appear overnight. It starts as a pore clogged with dead skin cells and oil, too small to see at first, and slowly grows into a closed comedone, a blackhead or an inflamed spot, sometimes over several weeks.

Peel, dù là peel acid hay peel tảo, thúc đẩy lớp da bề mặt thay mới nhanh hơn (xem thêm Chemical Peel là gì? Có đau không?). A peel, whether an acid peel or an algae peel, speeds up the renewal of the skin's surface layer (see What is a Chemical Peel? Does it hurt?). Congestion that was already brewing underneath therefore comes up sooner and all within a short window. The peel does not create these spots: they were going to surface anyway, just later and more spread out. Not everyone purges after a peel. Skin with lots of closed comedones and clogged pores is more likely to; skin with little congestion may show almost nothing.

Spots after a peel can be purging, a genuine breakout (from a product, a habit or another cause that happens to coincide) or irritation. These four points help you lean towards one answer, but they are no substitute for having someone qualified look at your skin.

1. Mụn nổi ở đâu1. Where the spots appear

Purging usually shows up exactly where you normally get closed comedones and blackheads. Spots in an area that rarely breaks out, or clustered right where you just applied a new product, are unlikely to be purging.

2. Nốt mụn trông thế nào2. What the spots look like

Đẩy mụn chủ yếu là mụn ẩn nhú lên, đầu trắng, đầu đen hoặc nốt viêm nhỏ, thường lên nhanh và xẹp nhanh hơn mụn thường. Kích ứng thì khác: da đỏ rát, ngứa, châm chích kéo dài hoặc nổi mẩn li ti. Purging is mostly closed comedones coming to a head, whiteheads, blackheads or small inflamed spots, which tend to come up quickly and clear faster than ordinary breakouts. Irritation looks different: red, burning, itchy or persistently stinging skin, or a fine rash. Large, deep, swollen spots that keep aching should not be written off as "just purging, it will pass". The pink dots where comedones were extracted during your peel usually calm down within about 24 hours.

3. Kéo dài bao lâu3. How long it lasts

Purging usually settles within a few weeks, about one renewal cycle of the skin, which varies with the person and with age. If after about 4 weeks you are still getting new spots constantly, or more rather than fewer, stop assuming it is purging and let Harmonie take another look.

Once the existing congestion has come up and been cleared, later sessions are usually milder. If you break out just as much after every session, or worse each time, the peel may not suit your skin, or something else may be involved, such as products, habits or hormones.

Sensitised skin irritates more easily, and with several new things at once you can't tell what your skin is reacting to.

Những ngày đầu cũng nên tránh xông hơi, sauna, bể bơi.Don't add an at-home peel to "get it over with". Peeling more often does not shorten purging; it only leaves your skin no time to recover. Also avoid steam rooms, saunas and pools for the first days.

Nobody can promise that your skin will not purge at all, because how much congestion sits under the skin differs from person to person. But these steps lower the chance of a heavy purge:

With the Decaar algae peel, stinging and prickling for 24–48 hours is expected and explained beforehand; what to watch for is that feeling getting stronger or lasting well beyond that window.
